About Unique Pet Care
Unique Pet Care, sold under the tagline We Tackle Tinkle, traces back to the 1980s, when founder Don Stewart was working in the janitorial supply trade and kept seeing apartment complexes tear out carpet ruined by pet stains and odor rather than treat it. He had read about bacteria being used to help break down ocean oil spills and built the company's first product, the original Pet Odor and Stain Eliminator, around that same bacteria-and-enzyme idea. The company, doing business as Unique Manufacturing & Marketing, is based in Arvada, Colorado, and today three generations of the Stewart family work there.
The line has grown from that first spray into separate cat, dog, hard-floor, and carpet-shampoo formulas, all built on the same approach: bacteria that produce enzymes to break down stains and odor-causing residue into something they can consume. The 32-ounce concentrate we feature dilutes into more than two and a half gallons of working solution rather than shipping ready-to-use, a format aimed at owners treating porous surfaces such as concrete, grout, and kennels, where a saturating volume of cleaner matters more than a quick spray.

Why we recognized Unique Pet Care
The House of Mittens Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our vet-reviewed category guides. Unique Pet Care earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: assessed against feline-health criteria, used with real cats, and judged on merit.
Unique Pet Care products we rated highly
Unique Pet Odor & Stain Eliminator Enzyme Cleaner Concentrate, 32 oz
The 32-ounce bottle is a concentrate rather than a ready-to-use spray, diluting into more than two and a half gallons of working solution, which suits porous surfaces like concrete and tile grout that need to be saturated rather than lightly misted. The listing states a bio-enzymatic formula combining bacteria and enzymes, the pairing that keeps digesting residue after a surface dries. Reviewers report it clearing set-in urine out of tile grout, one of the harder porous surfaces to treat in a home. The manufacturer also runs a direct support line for unusual jobs, such as treating a subfloor.
