About Zout
Zout is a laundry stain remover made by Summit Brands, a family-owned household cleaning company based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Summit Brands says it started in 1958 with the distribution of Iron OUT, a multi-purpose rust stain remover, and has since grown into a wider line of specialty cleaners. It announced its acquisition of the Zout and Fels-Naptha brands in September 2022, and Zout is now part of the company's laundry solutions range.
Zout Stain Remover is built around a triple enzyme formula that Summit Brands says targets protein, starch and oil-based stains, from blood and grass to tomato sauce and salad dressing. The brand also states that it works on set-in stains, including ones that have been laundered before. Application is three steps: saturate the stain, work it into the fabric, and wash. Summit Brands says its household cleaning products are backed by a performance guarantee.
