About Weruva
Weruva was founded in 2006 by David and Stacie Forman, a husband-and-wife team who started the company after growing frustrated with the quality of ingredients in mainstream pet food. The brand's name is built from the first letters of the couple's three rescue cats, Webster, Rudi, and Vanessa, and Weruva has stayed family-owned ever since. It built its reputation on high-moisture, meat-forward wet food: base proteins like white breast chicken, whole tuna loin, and select cuts of beef, with only 1 to 3 percent carbohydrates and no meat by-products, artificial additives, or carrageenan.
The lineup spans several distinct lines, from the original Classic cans through the globally-inspired TruLuxe recipes to the BFF (Best Feline Friend) range, giving owners a lot of texture and flavor variety within the same clean-ingredient philosophy. Most of the wet food is prepared in a Thailand processing plant that primarily makes food fit for human consumption, and in 2024 Weruva expanded into dry food by acquiring the Cat Person product line. That combination of a simple, transparent ingredient list and real meat as the first ingredient is what stands out most in kitten formulas, where growth-stage cats benefit from both high protein and the added hydration wet food provides.

Why we recognized Weruva
The House of Mittens Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our vet-reviewed category guides. Weruva earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: assessed against feline-health criteria, used with real cats, and judged on merit.

Weruva Kitten Fur Baby Favorites Variety Pack Wet Cat Food (12 Cans)
Tender shreds of real meat in a hydrating gravy that fussy, newly weaned, or convalescing kittens accept when little else works. It's high in animal protein and grain-free, built on named muscle meat rather than by-products or plant fillers, and the broth-and-gravy format delivers the extra moisture that matters most in a kitten's first year. Backed by a strong 4.6-star average from a loyal following.
