About Minties
Minties is a dental-treat brand owned by PetIQ, LLC, a pet health and wellness company headquartered in Eagle, Idaho. The line covers dental chews for both dogs and cats, and every Minties treat is formulated without wheat, corn, soy, or added sugars and salts, and made in the United States. For cats specifically, Minties makes a single dental-treat line in chicken and salmon flavors, built around a crunchy texture designed to rub against the teeth as the cat chews.
PetIQ has continued to invest in the brand, expanding Minties into a dental chew sized for large dogs in 2024 alongside its existing FreshBites and Dental Twists formats. In our own testing, the Minties Dental Treats for Cats, Salmon Flavored earned a place among our top picks for cat dental treats, the only treat in that roundup using sodium hexametaphosphate, a calcium-chelating ingredient, as a second mechanism alongside mechanical abrasion from the crunchy texture.

Why we recognized Minties
The House of Mittens Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our vet-reviewed category guides. Minties earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: assessed against feline-health criteria, used with real cats, and judged on merit.
Minties products we rated highly
Minties Dental Treats for Cats, Salmon Flavored, 10 oz
One of our top picks in our cat dental treats reviews. It's the only treat in that roundup using sodium hexametaphosphate, a genuine calcium-chelating agent that binds salivary calcium so plaque has less free mineral available to harden into tartar, working alongside the mechanical abrasion of its crunchy, baked texture. It also carries one of the best price-per-ounce figures we found outside the VOHC-accepted tier, and its 3,332 customer ratings are the second-deepest review record in our roundup, giving the pick real household evidence behind it.
