About Catit
Catit was founded in 1999 by the Hagen Group, a family-owned pet products company that Rolf C. Hagen started in 1955 and that his sons, Rolf Jr., Tom, and Mark Hagen, still run today. Catit sits alongside sibling Hagen brands like Fluval (aquatics) and Exo Terra (reptiles), and its own lineup now spans the full feline lifecycle: the interactive Senses toy line, hydration products including the Flower Fountain, the Vesper cat furniture line, litter and litter boxes, and a premium food and treats range. In 2024 the brand marked its 25th year with an expansion into Wi-Fi-enabled PIXI feeders, fountains, and a monitoring camera.
The Flower Fountain we feature has drawn independent, hands-on coverage beyond Amazon customer reviews, including write-ups from Reviewed.com and Forbes' product-review team. It runs on a triple-action filter designed to reduce magnesium and calcium buildup, cut odor from bacteria and chlorine in tap water, and trap loose hair and debris, and it offers multiple flow settings, from soft petal streams to a gentle center bubble, so owners can dial in whatever pace gets a particular cat drinking.

Why we recognized Catit
The House of Mittens Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our vet-reviewed category guides. Catit earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: assessed against feline-health criteria, used with real cats, and judged on merit.
Catit products we rated highly
Catit Flower Fountain with Triple Action Filter, 3L
The wide, shallow flower-petal drinking area is shaped specifically so a cat's whiskers never brush the sides, the single most-cited reason whisker-fatigue-prone and finicky cats readily switch to it after refusing narrow-mouthed fountains. It's the best-selling, most-reviewed fountain in the entire category at more than 49,000 ratings, and multiple stream heights let owners dial in whatever flow a particular cat responds to. Official replacement filters are widely available and inexpensive, keeping long-term cost predictable.
