TropiClean is a pet grooming and wellness brand owned by Cosmos Corporation, a family-owned company founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1980. The TropiClean line launched in 1991 and has grown into a broad catalog spanning shampoos and waterless sprays, dental care, ear and eye care, and natural flea and tick products. The company manufactures the large majority of its products in the United States, at a facility in Saint Peters, Missouri, and its products are carried by major pet retailers including Petco and PetSmart.
The brand builds its formulas around plant- and fruit-derived ingredients such as coconut, papaya, oatmeal, and aloe, and its stated formulation rules exclude parabens, soap-based detergents, and artificial dyes. That ingredient philosophy is exactly what shows up in its natural flea line: a cedarwood-and-rosemary spray built as a waterless, no-rinse product for both cats and the home rather than a citrus- or tea-tree-based formula, the latter of which are the plant oils most likely to cause problems in cats.
