About NaturVet
NaturVet was founded in 1994 by Scott Garmon, who had already spent more than a decade in the pet-care industry running his Creature Comforts pet store in Fallbrook, California. The push to start the brand came from his own rescue Labrador, Winston, who was struggling with arthritis and hip dysplasia -- working with holistic veterinarian Dr. Pedro Rivera, Garmon developed a natural joint formula that helped Winston, and that formula became the basis for the company. NaturVet has been part of Swedencare, a global pet-health company, since 2022, with Garmon continuing to lead the NaturVet team.
The company manufactures its own products at its California facility across roughly 20 pet health categories for dogs and cats. For cats specifically, the lineup centers on soft chews addressing a handful of common, specific problems rather than one broad wellness formula: calming aids for situational stress and night-time restlessness, hairball control built on psyllium husk and pumpkin, dental care chews, and joint chews combining glucosamine and MSM. That single-problem, named-ingredient approach -- melatonin and L-tryptophan for calming, psyllium husk for hairballs -- runs through the whole cat line rather than being unique to one product.
